ABOUT THIS QUALIFICATION
The Certificate III in Carpentry provides individuals with a broad range of skills and knowledge required to work in the residential and commercial construction sectors. The course focuses on developing capabilities in structural carpentry, including the construction of wall frames, roof trusses, ceilings, flooring systems, and external cladding. This Certificate covers areas such as interpreting construction drawings, selecting and cutting materials, using hand and power tools, assembling building components, erecting scaffolding, and working safely at heights. Students also learn to follow industry safety procedures and building codes while working on real and simulated job sites. Through this course, students gain hands-on experience and practical skills in teamwork, workplace communication, and problem-solving — all essential to working effectively in the carpentry trade.

OR
2. Evidence that they have studied in English for at least five years in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States
OR
3. Evidence that, within two years of their application date, they have successfully completed in Australia a foundation course or a senior secondary certificate of education or a Certificate Ill or higher level qualification, from the Australian Qualifications Framework.
OR
4. Applicants originating from students visa assessment levels 1 and 2 countries without the required IELTS or equivalent score must undertake the Language, Literacy, Numeracy & Digital(LLND) test. For further information on student visa assessment levels visit Department of Home Affairs’ website at www.homeaffairs.gov.au.
Additionally, the learner is required to:
• Complete the Language, Literacy, Numeracy & Digital (LLND) test prior to the commencement of the course.
Onshore International Students
Complete the Pre-Training Review which aims to identify training needs through questions on previous education or training, relevance of the courses to learner and relevant experience.
Offshore International Students
• Complete the Pre-Training Review which aims to identify training needs through questions on previous education or training, relevance of the courses to learner and relevant experience. This will be conducted either via video call (e.g. Skype) or phone call to the prospective learner.
• Students required to invest on average 10 hours a week of guided learning and summative assessments during the training weeks and does not include the term breaks.
